One month to go! Join me for the launch of Remember the Rowan

Please join me in conversation with the fabulous feminist author and activist Sara Sheridan at the Mitchell Library, 2pm on Saturday 21st September, as I launch my debut novel Remember the Rowan.

With Sara at CILIPS24 in sunny Dundee: scroll below for her keynote!

As longtime blog readers know, Remember the Rowan is inspired by the true story of poet Kathleen Raine and author-naturalist Gavin Maxwell’s ‘some-requited’ love, illuminating their extraordinary relationship and shining a light on the woman behind Ring of Bright Water

'Not Sandaig with its cresting waves and the bright, twisting burn. Not Mij. Certainly not Gavin himself. Even my words have become his, the boy whose writing I nurtured choosing to wield the power I taught against me: Gavin's irresistible literary elegance eliminating me entirely from the official narrative of who he is...'

In this first fictionalised account of their relationship, I weave together literary reference and poetry to present an intimate portrayal of two writers and their complicated love, drawing on themes of nature, homosexuality and motherhood. Signed preorders at an exclusive price are open now, and you can also snap up a free ticket for the launch party via this link. Looking forward to seeing you there, Rainedrops!
